All members and guest joined in the fun while wearing their "official" souvenir NASA ID Badges to commemorate the day. |

Member Barbara Bonaparte receives her Ribbon for BEST TABLE TOPICS after letting us know what antics she would use to get herself OFF OF THE SPACE STATION! |
|

Newest member, Caryn Gonzalez is awarded the "FIRST TIMER's" Ribbon to commemorate the achievement of giving her FIRST public speech to the group, also known as the "Ice Breaker". She blew us all away by beginning her speech with a rendition of "76 Trombones" played on a KAZOO! Congrats Caryn! |
Can YOU deal with STRESS??? Most astronauts would greatly benefit had they heard member Jean Aldridge's speech today. She gave us TEN tips to prevent premature "Burnout". Jean received the BEST SPEAKER Ribbon. Congrats and thanks for the TIPS! |

Sara Alsup wrote: Three speeches which followed their intended goals, yet were so entertaining! I was so impressed by the growth in each speaker. Carl, Maureen, Jose, Catherine, Kim, Jane, Louise – You picked the wrong day to be absent! We were challenged to stay in these creative roles and use the jargon associated with the space industry. Although Sherrie told us how too much jargon can be a hazard to communication. Scott, You have energized us forward into the 22nd century at warp speed. |

Caryn Gonzalez wrote: That was the most fun meeting! We should have themed meetings more often. Especially as a first time speaker, it was a relief to just relax, laugh and have fun before I had to give my speech! Everyone did a great job sticking with the theme, using the terminology and the name badges were really cool! It will serve as a memory of my first speech! Sherrie and Jean your speeches were great guidelines for all of us! Can’t wait to see you all again next week |

What a great meeting! All speeches were wonderful. How do you choose the BEST? |

wrote: That was probably one of the best and definitely the most entertaining meeting we have had. It was so difficult to vote for the best speech since they all would have won the ribbon on their own. For those of you who do not know Jean’s history with the club, she had a public speaking phobia when she started. We were always telling her to speak up! Now she has great vocal variety! I cannot believe how much Sherrie has improved since she started and she was great from the start! Caryn, that was one of the very best ice breaker speeches we have had. Practicing in various locations paid off! Jenola, your table topics were fun and “out of this world”. |

Paula Summa wrote: Wow! How awesome to be a part of this wonderful Toastmaster’s group! Ditto to what has already been said by Caryn and Sara… it truly was the best meeting I’ve been to yet! The theme idea was terrific and I think we should have a themed meeting at least once a month! Not only did Scott do a fantastic job of putting this all together, everyone who attended gave their ALL to stick with the theme and made it even more fun and interesting. Thank you, one and all! Our visitor, Merrie Cunningham thoroughly enjoyed the meeting, too… she told me on the way out that it was the best Toastmaster’s meeting she’d been to… she was extremely impressed by all the speakers and evaluators, as well as the friendly nature of everyone there. We were glad to have another guest join us, Shirley Kennedy, and I hope that she left with a feeling of “I WANT to be a part of this fun club!” Hope to see you back again, Shirley! The speeches were all fantastic…. And if we would be allowed to have had a 3-way tie, that certainly would have been easily accomplished. Great job to Jean, Sherrie and Caryn!!! You each had me riveted… laughing… smiling…. And trying to write down all your colorful phrases was impossible!!! |

You ALL excelled by getting into the theme and having such STELLAR performances!
So glad
that Shirley Kennedy and Merrie Cunningham were able to visit us today!
We hope you enjoyed yourselves and will be back with us next week. Paula --- "NAVIGATE" That was the best word for today's theme. Good Choice. Jenola --- Perfect choices for Table Topics. I'm not sure how I would have responded to any of them, but the speakers you chose did GREAT. Barbara -- A well deserved Ribbon for your hysterical version of how you'd get out of an extended-stay on the Space Station! Sherrie -- I think you really NEED to give your "Report" to NASA. They wrote the book on confusing jargon. Too funny! Jean -- Your ideas are already being talked about. Our guest, Merrie Cunningham was already sharing your ideas with another teacher at her school today! You're the Queen of Stress-Management! Caryn -- You blew us away (pun intended) with your Kazoo performance and insight into your musical-magical life. Congrats on being our FIRST "First Timer" Ribbon recipient. I haven't had a chance to read your Potty-Training For Astronauts article yet... Guess I'll save that for later. Very funny! You're going to be a speaker to watch out for in future competitions! Sara -- Your evaluation was right-on-target. Congrats on your ribbon. I also appreciate you helping out with the satellite photo from Mars!
If I commented on everyone's spirit and energy today, this message could take hours to write. The bottom line is you have my heart-felt thanks for being the group you are. Future themed meetings will definitely be "Don't-Miss-This-One"s. Have a wonderful week and I'll see you ALL next week. |
