Toastmasters Kickoff at Full Sail!

Toastmasters International is no stranger to the college campus and it's always exciting to join educational forces with another such institution. 

On February 7, 2008 Full Sail of Orlando held its kickoff meeting to introduce the students to their new avenue of expression.

Full Sail student Ryan Eversole realized the value of using Toastmasters' principles for the high-tech industries that Full Sail embodies.  He coordinated the kickoff event with Area 34 Governor Keith Koons and Area 64 Governor Ellen Weiss.

With more than 20 attendees, the room was filled with excitement.  Students were challenged by Toastmaster Mickey Mullen to a round of "Table Topics", the impromptu speech subjects commonly presented at Toastmasters meetings.  This gave students the opportunity to think on their feet.

Pictured here is Ryan Eversole answering the question "What gift would you give to someone on this Valentine's Day?"  Hmm, talk about putting a guy on the spot!  Ryan did a great job of "winging it" and will be ready for the next round...

In addition, they heard a presentation from Toastmaster Diane Neff about the "Wonders of the World".  Later, Diane received her evaluation from Toastmaster Larry Gray.  Larry's evaluation pointed out the strengths of Diane's talk and also gave her some helpful ideas for future improvement.

Full Sail is now working on a schedule to most effectively fit in with the students' curriculum.  We're thrilled to have you on board and part of District 47!  Congratulations on your successful beginning!
