DIVISION "C"
HUMOROUS SPEECH AND EVALUATION CONTEST!!! |
|
More than 100 attendees laughed & learn while cheering on the
best speakers &
evaluators from 8 Areas of Division C. The event was held on October 6, 2007
at the beautiful
Bush Auditorium at Rollins College in Winter Park.
Special THANKS to our Host Club Crummer @ Rollins Toastmasters
Contest Master, Area 33 Governor Jeff Rufenacht kept things moving, keeping the energy level high. Performing the role of Contest Master is a great way to gain experience in organizing events. You can also count the experience as a High Performance Leadership project as a requirement of the DTM award. Please contact me if you'd be interested in organizing the Spring Contest. eMail here
Speaking of "Help", that's exactly what
evaluation is all about. Our guest speaker Brian Muehlbauer of
Laser Systems Toastmasters Club gave a humorous talk about the upcoming
elections. After his presentation the Evaluation Contest
participants gave insightful comments and suggestions for improvement on
his speech.
It's a good thing that food wasn't allowed in the auditorium, because when the humorous speeches started, people would have been laughing their drinks right through their noses! What an entertaining bunch of performers Division C is lucky to have. We heard everything from creative uses of the rock to phone evolution to submarine and peanut butter sandwiches to anger management. With humor, you just never know what you're about to hear. From left to right are Humorists Antonio Gibson, Vicki Iozzia, Eddie Selover, Frank Santorelli, Jack Mannion, Donna Gatling, Marjorie McCouley, Paula Summa and Contest Master Jeff Rufanacht. Thanks for the belly laughs and representing your Areas so well! The Runners Up Are...
