|
"Toastmasters Leadership Institute", the semi-annual, District Sponsored, Club Officer Training,
will be held at the Darden Training Facility in Orlando,
Florida, on July 7, 2007. Here, new officers will find a great variety of
Tips and Tricks for helping club members achieve their personal goals.
They also learned how to effectively perform their roles as Club Officers.
Registration forms
are available HERE. Please check back often
for details. If you are considering a Club Officer position,
please check here for information on the
responsibilities. When four of your Club Officers attend, you complete a goal of your Distinguished Club Plan. When all SEVEN of your Officers attend, you are serving your Club MEMBERS the BEST way THEY deserve! If you were unable to attend, don't miss Toastmasters Leadership Institute "Lite" for Divisions B and C makeup training session on July 29th at The Mayflower! For those of you not in Divisions B or C, please contact your Division Governors to find out when your make up session is. Remember...Training is CRITICAL! "We're right on target as District 47 is successfully completing its goals." District 47 Governor, DTM Loretta Sandy assures a Standing-Room-Only crowd. "It's because we are ALL working together as an awesome team. The Club Officers, Club Members and District leaders create a synergy that can't be beat. We WILL be the Number One District in the WORLD this year!" Several Clubs were congratulated and rewarded for having four or more Club Officers in attendance. By having four or more District-trained officers, those clubs received half a goal point toward their Distinguished Club Programs. Congratulations and THANK YOU for taking the step that makes your Clubs the BEST!

![]() As a special treat, Past International President of Toastmasters International, Robert Blakeley, DTM joined us and gave his "Fireside Chat". Attendees gave Robert numerous questions regarding his history in Toastmasters, what his dream was ("To get up tomorrow morning" was his humorous response), which political leader impressed him as a public speaker, and more. Time was a thief, as there was a packed agenda for the day, but we hope to hear much more from this outstanding leader in the future. Pictured here is Division "A" Governor, David Hollingshead, DTM (left) with Robert Blakely (right). |

"The Ins and Outs of Successfully Running a Contest" Shari Cartwright, ATMG presented one of the many helpful training sessions at Planet Toastmasters. Attendees learned the importance of proper planning, last minute preparations and what pitfalls to avoid. Why do the best contests seem to be so easily put together? Because of teamwork and cooperation long beforehand, that's why!
Debbie Perry's presentation "A Peek at Positive Evaluations" gave a humorous and insightful look at what really makes a club strong... helping members to IMPROVE. An overview of Debbie's presentation is available here

"Being able to work with several clubs; witnessing the dynamics and personalities of each club is rewarding in itself. But when you get to share the unique qualities of each club with other clubs, that's where new ideas stem from. The ultimate reward is when you watch the clubs GROW.", Scott said. And I thought the best part was being able to live in the Governor's mansion! So much for THAT idea... |

"Voting and Proxies and Quarums, Oh My!" was the session presented by Beth McCullough, ATMG "Hey, now it finally makes sense to me!" was the general feeling after Beth simplified the whole voting process. On one page (available here soon) she was able to break down who is responsible; who can vote and when it needs to be done. This information is always important, but even more so at the upcoming Spring Conference in May where voting regarding the reformation of District 47 will take place. Reserve your room NOW for "Lights, Cameras and plenty of Action!"! |
|
"Learn from experienced Club Officers who know exactly what information you need to do your job BEST!", Wanda informs the attendees. |
