 
Over 50 attendees were present June 17th for District
47's District Officer Training Session, held at the Darden Restaurants
Training Facility in Orlando, Florida. Over ten hours worth of
information was mentally consumed by all present. "PDD is Up To
Me!" was the slogan devised to remind us of our goal to become a
PRESIDENT'S DISTINGUISHED DISTRICT. District 47 is the Largest District
in the World, and incoming District Governor, Loretta Sandy,
DTM assured us
that we WILL become the Number ONE District in the World this year.
Exciting goals with plenty of new blood to make it happen. It can
ONLY happen through the participation of every last member. Let's
DO IT, District 47!

Paul Meunier,
DTM, Past International Director, and Nominee for 3rd Vice President for
Toastmasters International, addressed the officers this weekend.
He imparted ideas and information that he has gleaned over the years, in
order to help us become the BEST.
We wish him the best in the upcoming years, as
we're sure he's soon to become our International President!

"Leather and Lace!" That is the theme of the
first evening of our Fall District Conference to be held in Daytona
Beach. Many more details to come, but rest assured it is going
to be exciting. "Get your motors runnin' and head out toward the
highway!" |

As part of the training, a "Demo Kickoff Meeting"
was held, to show a great way to get a New Club started. Division
Governor Asaro joined in the activity by giving a Table Topic based on
her favorite dream. Nice job, Jennifer! |
Was the training worth it? All of the
training that District 47 puts out, is worth its weight in gold!
As your new Area Governor, I encourage all Club Officers to participate
in
Planet Toastmasters, this weekend at the Darden Training Center.
You owe it to yourself and you owe it to your members to be the best
leader you can be. Looking forward to seeing you all on "The
Planet"!
